Mammography Services
Dar Elashaa provides advanced mammography in Alexandria for the early detection and thorough evaluation of breast abnormalities. Our modern imaging technology delivers clear, high-resolution views of breast tissue to support accurate diagnosis.
Technology / Equipment
Our mammography services utilize specialized digital imaging technology designed to produce high-resolution, low-dose views of breast tissue. Mammography plays a vital role in identifying non-palpable lesions and early-stage abnormalities—often long before they are detectable during a clinical or self-physical examination—thereby supporting timely diagnostic evaluations and targeted treatment planning.
Key Features:
Advanced Imaging Technology: Low-dose, high-definition digital breast imaging for clear visual detail.
Early Detection Focus: Identifies microcalcifications, subtle mass distortions, and non-palpable breast abnormalities.
Versatile Application: Fully equipped for both routine preventive screening and targeted diagnostic examinations.
Qualified Clinical Care: Procedures are conducted by certified radiologic technologists and interpreted by board-certified radiologists.
Pre-Procedure Guidelines for Mammography
Preparation Before Examination
Following these preparation guidelines ensures optimal imaging quality and diagnostic accuracy:
1. Topical Agent Restrictions: Avoid applying deodorants, antiperspirants, body powders, lotions, or cosmetic creams to the breasts, chest wall, or axillary (underarm) regions on the day of the exam. Metallic microparticles present in many personal care products can mimic microcalcifications on radiographs, leading to false-positive findings or artifact interference.
2. Attire Recommendations: Wear a two-piece outfit or comfortable clothing that allows for efficient disrobing above the waist.
3. Pregnancy & Lactation Status: Inform the clinical team prior to the procedure if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are currently lactating, so radiation exposure protocols and diagnostic pathways can be evaluated.
4. Surgical & Device History: Disclose any history of breast interventions, including prior biopsies, surgical resections, or silicone/saline breast implants, as these require specific modified imaging protocols (e.g., Eklund displacement views).
5. Prior Diagnostic Records: Provide previous mammograms, breast ultrasound scans, MRI reports, or external imaging records to enable comparative longitudinal evaluation.
Note: Adhere strictly to any additional patient instructions issued by your treating clinical care or radiology team.
